Ben McMillan moved to Beijing from London in late 2004, leaving work as a broadcast journalist at the BBC World Service to launch a career in photography in China. Since then his editorial and commercial credits have ranged from National Geographic & Vanity Fair to Mercedes Benz, while his work was exhibited in London as part of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s ‘China Now’ project. Ben was also a finalist in the 2009 Sovereign Asia Art Prize and held a private exhibition with Asia Fine Art in Hong Kong the following year.
Complimenting his photography Ben founded and runs Beijing Photospace, a full service production company and studio and equipment rental house. BPS works across catalogue, advertising and editorial shoots, drawing on Ben’s experience plus a great team to deliver end-to-end production services, from casting and location work through photography and video to layout and design. At a bespoke, 250 sqm seamless studio, or on location, BPS supports regular partners Vogue and GQ, plus Harpers Bazaar, National Geographic, Sony Pictures China, Getty Images China and many more.
